Why should you sail?
You should sail, because it is a fast pace exhilarating experience. Many people misunderstand and think that sailing is not fast paced and exciting, because they identify sailboats as those large slow wooden ships that are in their American history books. People have concluded that sailboats are slow and boring. This is certainly not the case. If people would take the opportunity to go sailing at least once, they would see that they reached the wrong conclusion about sailing. Sailing is a fast paced exhilarating sport that gives an adrenalin rush. Small sailboats bring the sailor close to the water, so it makes you feel as if you are going twenty miles per hour faster then they actually are going. Sailing competitively requires sailors to be athletic and have analytically intelligent. The sailor has to throw his body from one side of the boat to the other in a split second; if the sailor waits to long they will risk capsizing or flipping. The sailor has to make split second decisions and learn to adjust to the conditions. If the sailor is not focused and fails to notice the change in wind, the sailor risks being knocked out by the boom. Sailing is definitely not a slow paced leisure ride. The fastest sailboat was clocked in at sixty-two knots or seventy-two miles per hour.
